Playing games is a natural part of a healthy lifestyle. This is the reason why children are encouraged to play outside the house and classroom. There are even designated gym classes in school to facilitate physical movement and coordination. People need proper mobility to function as human beings but over the years, technology has rendered us lazy.  After the pandemic, it has become more important than ever before to leave the sedentary lifestyle. One of the many unique games that require physical movement and coordination is Flag Tag. It is very different from regular tag, but it is essentially the same in concept. There is no single person handling the role of It. Everyone is doing so at the same time. The basic idea is to grab the flags tied to the others’ waists. At the end, the person with the most tags remaining on their waist will be named the winner. This game enables people to enhance their coordination while having fun.

Another one of the many unique games out there which require physical movement and coordination is King and Pawns. This game combines the elements of soccer and wrestling. It is a team game where two teams are placed opposite one another, and each possess a King. The rest of the team are pawns. It is the pawns job to tackle the pawns of the other team to pave a way for the king to get to the opposite side with the ball. This game creates a new experience for physical movement and coordination.

Another one of the unique games which require physical movement and coordination involves Boulder Ball. It is basically a different type of dodgeball, where instead of the two teams trying to hit each other, all participants stay in the middle as the people outside of the perimeter attempt to hit them. There is another way to play it as well. That is to race against the ball and crash into the mat in the distance before the ball can reach it.

Maybe the inclusion of this game among the unique games which require physical movement and coordination may seem out of place. But Hill Sprint Racing is not as common as people think. Hills are generally relegated for hiking and trekking. But a hill with a slight slope can prove to be quite a racing adventure. The idea is to make two participants race one another to the top of the hill at a time. It is the speed and the stamina that is being tested through this game.

Like the previous game mentioned here, one might wonder what is so special about Tug of War to make it a part of the unique games which require physical movement and coordination. It is not the strength and stamina that is being tested through this game. The point of importance is the coordination between team members. Both teams must strategize on the way they can maximize their body weight to reel the other team to their side. It is not about the weight of the team members but the way they can utilize it for the team.

  1. Runners and Gunners Bringing Coordination

Another one of the many ubique games out there which require physical movement include Runners and Gunners, also known as Pickle. It is another sort of dodgeball, but the ball used is a tennis ball. The basic way of playing is that there are two teams. While the runners attempt to dodge the tennis ball coming their way, the gunners play tennis with each other from opposite ends. If a runner gets hit, the person is eliminated from the game.

An escape game is one of the most unique games that requires both physical movement and coordination. But unlike the other games mentioned in this article, it is not tiring. An escape game focuses on testing one’s problem-solving and creative-thinking skills as a primary goal. There is no escape game out there which does not attempt to do this in its own unique way. Every escape game provides a different experience but all of them promote physical movement and coordination.

As established throughout this article, there are many ways to promote physical movement and coordination, especially through unique games. But for the new generation, something extra is required. Most of the games mentioned here are combinations of other games. But the most unique of them all is the Escape Game. The escape game is the new form of entertainment with physical and cognitive learning experience that has taken the world by storm and will continue to do so.
